"I love that it's in-home, and has a personal feel. It was very important to me that my daughter's tutoring session be tailor-made to strengthen her specific weaknesses - I don't believe in generic programs, because sometimes those are hit and miss. You can waste a lot of time and effort trying to help your child improve while not seeing results because the program isn't customized to your own child's strengths and weaknesses. With Tutor Doctor, this is no longer an issue. My child's tutor is just fabulous: she pays attention to her energy levels, encouraging her to push ahead through the materials when she senses that she can go a little further than she is, but knows just when to back off and move on to another task. My child's learning has absolutely skyrocketed. When I first enlisted the services of Tutor Doctor, I made it clear that confident letter recognition, sound recall, and starting reading were very important to me. The tutor systematically worked on letter and recognition with my daughter, and once she'd mastered that, directly into reading. My daughter is now walking around the house, trying to sound out materials we have at home and is able to read short books now! It's amazing :). Made this PhD candidate mama happy, that is for sure!”
